1 GWp Solar Power Plant in Central African Republic
We are continuously expanding our renewable energy projects to solve the Central African Republic's electricity problems and improve electricity access. Specifically, the Byulhas Group, through its company OBY Group International SPC, submitted a Letter of Intent (LOI) to the Minister of Water Resources and Energy Development for the construction of a 1000MW solar power plant. The government has shown great interest, and the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) have already been negotiated, with a signing date set for August 13, 2025.
The Central African Republic has requested Korea to build a high-quality solar power plant based on its excellent technology and capital, and has promised close cooperation.
Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), a full feasibility study (FS) will be conducted to secure investors. During the FS period, we will execute the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and Implementation Agreement (IA) as requested by the government. The first 100MW solar power plant will then be constructed near the capital city, Bangui.
The total budget is estimated at around 200 billion won. A BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) will be implemented, and the project will be pursued alongside the expansion of transmission lines.
